Dr. Pravin Patel

Brief Biography
Dr. Pravin Patel was born in Ndola, Zambia. He came to Toronto to begin his further education. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. He went on to study dentistry at the University of Toronto, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1982. During this period, he also went back to Zambia to do voluntary work for 2 years; teaching English at a local high school. Upon graduation he opened his private practice in general dentistry at Highway 27 and Humber College Blvd.
He is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and is qualified to practice dentistry in the province of Ontario. He is also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Patel is also the continuing education director for the South Asian Dental Association (SADA). He has organized continuing education courses for SADA over the last five years, and is well known by his dental colleagues; especially in the West Toronto area.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Patel is very active within various community organizations, including the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Centre for Conscious Awareness. He was past president of the Federation of Gujarati Associations and Building Committee Chairperson for Gujarati Community Centre (now known as Hindu Mandir and Cultural Centre). He is also involved in many fundraising drives for local religious organizations. Dr. Patel is currently interested in and teaching Arka Dhyana Meditation.
